I didn’t learn this from a textbook. I lived it.
I experienced domestic assault and what people often call narcissistic abuse, but what I now understand as a pattern of control, confusion, and emotional entrapment. I know what it feels like to question your reality, to stay longer than you ever thought you would, and to try to make sense of something that never quite adds up. That experience is what led me here. Not just to heal, but to understand, deeply, why we stay, why we go back, and why leaving isn’t the hardest part… staying gone is. I’ve spent years studying the patterns, dynamics, and psychological impact of abusive relationships so I can help you see clearly while you’re still in it, not just after the fact.
My training includes:
Certified Relationship Coach, IAP College
Danger Assessment Training, Johns Hopkins University
Narcissistic Abuse for Therapists, PESI
In-Depth Workshop on Narcissistic Abuse, PESI
Trauma Treatment Certification Training (CCTP), PESI
Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC), PESI (in progress)
But what matters most isn’t just what I’ve studied. It’s how I apply it, in real life, with women who are trying to untangle themselves from relationships that don’t make sense but still feel impossible to leave.
I’ve built my work around one goal, helping you see clearly and rebuild your life after abuse.
I’m the host of the podcast Relationships Uncensored: Real Talk with Lisa Sonni, where I break down the realities of abusive relationships in a way that’s honest, direct, and grounded in real experience. I’ve also spoken at events across the U.S., Canada, and internationally, bringing these conversations into spaces where women are ready to hear the truth.
Through Lisa Sonni Coaching, I’ve written four books that have sold over 10,000 copies and created programs that have helped thousands of women break trauma bonds and start rebuilding. My Trauma Bond Recovery Course alone has supported over 4,000 students, and my work reaches over 1.6 million women across social media every day.
But numbers aren’t the point.
The point is this, I help you understand what’s actually happening, so you can stop second-guessing yourself and start making decisions from clarity, not confusion.
My approach is direct, honest, and deeply supportive. I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to help you see what’s real, trust yourself again, and rebuild a life that feels like yours.
If you’re ready for that, you’re in the right place.
